The founder of Shadow and Sky Rescue, Lindsey Wright, had two dogs growing up that solidified her love and passion for animals. They were Shadow and Sky, two Australian Shepherds. Both dogs have since passed away, but their memory lives on in every dog that Lindsey saves. Lindsey thought Shadow and Sky would be a fitting name for the rescue to honor them and the passion for dogs that they brought out in her.
